Eddie Charles, former singer of Traffik and Tripple X, seems now singer in the band JMC 3veni. The Trinidad band Invazion says that they sell 200 000 copies of their compilations. Bunji Garlin is jumping on the soca classics remake train and released Firey, original sung by Maestro.
We Magazin Online has an article about the N.Y/Vincean artist Johnny Fontainne aka Problem Child. Problem Child became known this year with his St. Vincent & Grenadines 2007 roadmarch “Party animal”, which is based on the popular Kassav song “Zouk la le sel medicament nou ni”. But he is not a newcomer - last year he had also a big tune with Kevin Lyttle, produced by the Great Zeee who also did the power soca riddim for “Somebody get mad”, probably the biggest Problem Child hit in Europe.

Digicel’s newest Rising Star is the dominican Tarina Simon. She competed with Antiguan Daina Barnes, as crowd favourite from early on in the competition and walked away with 10 000 US$ and a recording deal with CRS Music.
The “reveal show” featured last year’s winner Kyron Baptiste who perfomed together with Peter Ram Ram’s tune ”Woman By my Side”.
