TnT Soca Boys with the official Soca Warriors tune

TnT Soca BoysIt’s finally there: the “official” Soca Warriors song, the soundtrack for the soccer team of Trinidad & Tobago. As mentioned earlier the song wasn’t produced by one of the countless talents of the country - no, it comes out of the UK. It is not really soca, it’s more a boring popsong with some 80s-soca flavour. But have a listen on your own on myspace. The decision to pick this tune make me wonder if we’ll see any up-to-date Soca artists in Germany this June.
Btw anyone remember this tune?

Shurwayne blames the DJs

At the Copyright Music Organization (COTT) members’ meeting Roadmarch winner and Soca Monarch 2006 spoke on the theme “From Songwriting to Royalties”. In his comments he said that the radio DJs are to blame for CD piracy:

“I’ll be real, here – the radio stations – the DJs. I’ll tell you, I released “Wine Down Low” one Friday morning on a radio station and by midday, I was walking up Fredrick Street and I heard my song playing on a pirate’s cart.”
