Germany has got a lively soca scene. Check out these new mixcds by the three major German soca sounds: BeatCamp’s “Carnival Loves You” is a nice selection of this year’s Trini season, from jump-up to slow riddims plus some exclusive remixes.
Constant Pressure SupaSoca released an double cd called “Carnival Survivors“. It is an almost complete overview of new Trinidadian carnival tunes plus some stuff from Dominica and St. Kitts.
Also as a double cd comes Soca Twins‘ new mix “Trinidad on fire“. It is loaded with dubplate versions of the latest tunes, as you might know it from reggae sounds.
Style and focus might vary, but they have one thing in common: they are skillfully mixed and come with a nice artwork.
